How GOAT can change your writing career – enquire within

“Gather Organize Assess Transcribe”
Gather – notes, information, eyewitness accounts, photos, etc.
Organize – by date, news, contrast, compare, persuade [if you’re an editor] Usually following the rule of threes.
Assess – after laying out the basic items in groups – what is missing from the plot? are you plotting ‘away’ from what is known (or what a character wishes to do for fiction) and need to reassess where you’re going. Find the extra data needed.
Transcribe – literally all the notes and pix into an RTF-or-better file. Keep adding as you gather more stuff later as well.
Repeat OAT as many times as necessary until it reads clear and truthful (or ‘truthy’ for fiction – see article on Truthyness 2014)
